Tumour removed safely at Little Clinic

IMPHAL, Jul 16 : Little Clinic at Nagaram has successfully removed a brain tumour from a six-month pregnant woman.
Speaking to the media, father of the patient Khundrakpam Rajmohon, a resident of Khangabok, said that his daughter was admitted to Little Clinic on June 30 and the surgery was conducted to remove the tumour on July 1.
He said that his daughter was discharged on July 14 following an observation and thanked the doctors and staff of the Little Clinic for ensuring his daughter's safety.
Dr Chandrakumar, who performed the surgery, stated that the procedure was done with the patient positioned sideways due to her pregnancy.
Dr Chandrakumar explained that the tumour was located on the southern side of the brain, causing accumulation in the eastern portion.
He added that the operation was done carefully using a pipe to drain the fluid, as removing it in the presence of the tumour could pose a threat to the patient's life.
