MMTU to release book

IMPHAL, Jul 16 :  The Meetei (Meitei) Tribe Union's research and documentation cell is set to release a book titled "A Memorandum for Inclusion/Restoration of Meetei/Meitei Community in the List of Scheduled Tribes of Manipur" on July 19 at the DIPR auditorium. MMTU, in a press release, stated that the book is being produced under the supervision of its R&D Cell chairman  and former acting Vice Chancellor of Manipur University Prof K Yugindro. The Union stated that the book contains historical documents such as resolutions of Durbar, documents collected  from different archives supporting the community's claim for ST status, highlighting their historical and cultural context. The book also highlights the influx of illegal immigrants into Manipur.
