IMPHAL, Jul 16 : A tragic accident occurred at Mantripukhri today when a Maruti Swift Dzire collided with a parked Mahindra Bolero, resulting in the death of a civilian and injured a BSF personnel.
The Bolero used by BSF was reportedly parked for maintenance near the DSLF oil pump when it was hit by the car driven by Mery from Luwangshangbam.
The deceased has been identified as Md Nur Hassan, s/o Md Matalib of Thoubal Hayel Loubuk and the corpse has been deposited at JNIMS mortuary for an autopsy.
It is further reported that Mery was returning from Bir Tikendrajit International Airport after dropping off her husband when the accident occurred. Additionally, she had also hit an A-Star on her return journey before colliding with the parked Bolero as per reports.
Mery has surrendered to the police and a case has been registered at Heingang police station.
