Man released on bail

IMPHAL, Jul 16: The Duty Magistrate Imphal West has released on bail a 32-year-old man accused of cheating and blackmailing a woman he had romantic relationships with. The accused, Dipanker Baruah of Baruahpara Garal Kamrup district Assam, was produced before the Court after the completion of police custody period along with a prayer for judicial custody remand by Singjamei police. Dipanker Baruah was arrested on July 12 based on the complaint lodged by the victim. The victim alleged that she met the accused some 7 years back. The complaint was filed after she came to know Dipanker is a married man.
