Vehicle lifter sent to police custody

IMPHAL, Jul 16: The Duty Magistrate Imphal West has sent an alleged vehicle lifter to seven days police custody till July 21. The accused, identified as Md Yasin of Sora Maning Leikai, was produced before the Court by Singjamei police yesterday. He has been accused of stealing a 2-wheeler vehicle in Imphal East on July 14. He was nabbed by the police after a hot pursuit in a failed attempt to flee with the stolen vehicle. The police chased him from Kakwa Bazar area and caught him at Thongju Part II.
