64th State Level Subroto Cup Thoubal's AG Memorial Academy win U-15, Imphal West's Yumnam Huidrom Hr Sec School win U-17

IMPHAL, Jul 17: Thoubal's AG Memorial Academy and Imphal West's Yumnam Huidrom Higher Secondary School emerged the champions of the 64th State Level Subroto Cup International Football Tournament for U-15 and U-17 boys respectively.
In the U-15 boys final at Chajing Kangjeibung today, AG Memorial Academy beat Chandel's St Paul's Higher Secondary School 2-1.
AG Memorial Academy, Thoubal reached the final after beating Ramananda High School, Imphal East 3-2 in the semifinal.
St Paul's Higher Secondary School, Chandel had secured the place in the final after defeating St Joseph's Higher Secondary School, Tengnoupal 1-0.
In the U-17 boys final at Ningombam Mini Stadium today, Yumnam Huidrom Higher Secondary School beat Kakching district's Langmeidong Higher Secondary School 2-1 to clinch the title.
Yumnam Huidrom Higher Secondary School reached the final after beating Khangsillung Higher Secondary School, Noney 8-7 on penalties after a 1-1 draw in regulation time.
Langmeidong Higher Secondary School, Kakching booked the spot in the final after defeating Diana English School, Imphal East 3-1 in the semifinal.
U-15 final
The final match for the U-15 boys at Chajing Kangjeibung today saw both teams scoring one goal each in the first half.
Th Mochando scored the first goal of the match for AG Memorial Academy, Thoubal 4 minutes into the first half.
As AG Memorial Academy mounted attacks to extend the lead, St Paul's Hr Sec School's Khumringwar found an equalizer in the 25th minute and put his team back into the game.
Even though the St Paul's Hr Sec School players displayed strength, their quest for a lead was shattered when S Thoungamba handed AG Memorial Academy their second goal in the 55th minute.
St Paul's Hr Secondary School couldn't recover from the setback and suffered a 1-2 defeat.
U-17 final
At Ningombam Mini Stadium, Langmeidong Hr Sec School enjoyed an early lead over Yumnam Huidrom Hr Sec School through M Rickson's fine goal in the 9th minute.
A confident Langmeidong Hr Sec School maintained the 1-0 lead for some time, but couldn't keep A Achouba in check as he handed Yumnam Huidrom Hr Sec School an equalizer in the 38th minute.
Even though they put up a good fight, the later minutes of the match proved fatal for Langmeidong Hr Sec School. H Pravakar proved to be the difference between the two teams when he scored the winning goal in the 72nd minute and handed Yumnam Huidrom Hr Sec School the title.
Thomas of Khangsillung Hr Sec School was named the best goalkeeper of U-17 boys.
Malemnganba of AG Memorial Academy was named the best goalkeeper for U-15 boys.
Yuki of Langmeidong Hr Sec School was named the Most Valuable Player of U-17 boys.
Mochando Maring of AG Memorial Academy was named the MVP for U-15 boys.
W Guleiba of Diana Eng School Imphal East (U-17) was named the best scorer.
Thoungamba of AG Memorial Academy Thoubal was named the best player for U-15 boys.
