Advise JTC: TTC to UNC

IMPHAL, Jul 17: The Thadou Tribe Council (TTC) has appealed to the United Naga Council (UNC) to advice the Joint Tribes Council (JTC) consisting of Inpui, Liangmei, Rongmei and Zeme tribes not to disturb and interfere in the matters of Churachandpur-Kangpokpi connectivity road.
The TTC’s appeal addressed to the UNC president said that some evil-minded mischievous individuals created unnecessary disturbances from time to time along the route, that compelled for another “Alternative Route” to bypass all the JTC areas so as not to disturb their respective peaceful atmospheres.
“The proposed bypass route takes a very long route so as to evade all JTC areas and pass through only out blood brother Chirus land. We don’t object to some of our blood brothers joining UNC or NSCN(IM) with the hope that this participation will all the more smoothen and mediate Kuki-Naga unity and fraternity”, it said.
The Thadou Tribe Council also decried the JTC’s memo addressed to the UNC on July 15 which portrayed the Kukis as encroaching upon Naga ancestral land.
The Thadou Tribe Council said that it invested a lot of time to evade all their areas to pass through only Chiru Khoiru/Dolang Khunou village.
It then appealed to the UNC to advise the JTC not to meddle in this matter where they have no legal authority and give bad names to Naga as well as Christianity, over blood brothers dealings as per custom and tradition.
“We hope your able leadership will definitely solve this matter once for all to give peace a chance to live and let live as fellow tribals and fellow Christians”, it added.
