Organic compost

IMPHAL, Jul 18: Organic compost made from organic waste is now available at the office of Imphal Municipal Corporation.
According to a press release issued by the IMC, the organic compost was made after carefully segregating waste materials collected from household wastes at the Solid Waste Management Plant, Lamdeng.
The organic waste thus segregated is deposited into compost pits for two-three months before it is converted into organic compost, it said.
The organic compost thus prepared has been tested at ICAR Lamphelpat and it has been named Organic Compost-87, Imphal Municipal Corporation. Interested people may buy the organic compost from the IMC office at the rate of Rs 16 per Kg and it is available in packets of 5 Kgs, it added.
