3rd IE District Level Fencing Championship YDO sweep 11 medals including 6 gold on Day 2

IMPHAL, Jul 18 : The second day of the 3rd Imphal East District Level Fencing Championship saw YDO clincing 11 medals including 6 gold as UPAA, Kyamgei fetched two gold medals and Khongman Fencing Association (KHFA) picked one gold, 8 silver and 4 bronze medals at Fencing Hall, Khuman Lampak Sports Complex.
Kh Rajiv secured the senior men’s foil gold beating compatriot W Roshan in the final before N Dayarani beat Kh Anjali of KHFA in the senior women’s competition for the second gold.
W Washington of OLA and Kh Yaiphaba of KHFA settled for bronze medals in the senior men’s foil competition as H Bala of KHFA and Nk Tamphasana of SWC bagged the bronze medals in the senior women’s foil event.
The senior men’s epee gold medal in the meantime went to Chinglemba of UPAA who defeated KHFA in the final while G Jashobanta and Phemton both representing SWC settled for the bronze medals. Thokchom Mexi of Kh FA secured the unit’s only gold medal today beating compatriot S Chingkheinganba in the senior men’s sabre final. L Bomcha of YDO and A Thoinao of SWC settled for bronze medals in this event.
Haobam Linthoi of UPAA meanwhile sealed the other gold medal for the unit in the senior women’s epee competition by beating S Chingkheinganba of KHFA in the title clash as N Dibiya of KHFA and Lanchenbi of SWC settled for the bronze medals.
Children (boys) foil
P Nongpoknganba of YDO picked the children (boys) foil gold medal beating Neelgreen of KHFA in the fina.
Junior : YDO tops junior foil and sabre competition
YDO fencers also dominated in the junior boys and girls foil competition staged today with K Prithibiraj and T Mangaleibi securing gold medals.
K Prithibiraj defeated A Henthoisana of KHFA in the final to stretch YDO’s gold medal tally at the competition as Washington of OLA and Kh Rajiv of YDO finished with the bronze medals.
T Mangaleibi in the meantime defeated Kh Anjali of KHFA in the final to seal the junior girls’ foil gold medal as M Geetarani of YDO and Merina of OLA picked the bronze medals.
Ambika of YDO also won a gold medal in the junior girls' sabre competition beating N Priya of KHFA in the final. N Payal of KHFA and Babydaina of YDO sealed the bronze medals in the same category.
