Eagerness for power among MLAs hindering Govt formation: Shiv Sena
By Our Staff Reporter
IMPHAL, Jul 19: A popular Government is likely to be formed in Manipur by first week of August, Shiv Sena Manipur Pradesh president and convenor of Manipur Democratic Alliance, M Tombi today.
He said this speaking to media persons at the office of the Shiv Sena Manipur Pradesh at Babupara.
There is no indication of extending the President's Rule in Manipur. A popular Government may be formed by August first week, Tombi said.
The BJP has the number to form a Government, but the greed for power among the MLAs have delayed the formation of Government, Tombi asserted.
If the MLAs shed their "eagerness" for power and make some sacrifice, the Government may be formed early, he hinted.
"The people of the State have suffered and they don't want the President's Rule to be extended. All the political parties must work together to form a popular Government," Tombi said.
Meanwhile, Tombi said the Shiv Sena Manipur Pradesh is submitting a memorandum to the Central leaders highlighting issues facing Manipur for discussion during the Parliament session, scheduled to begin from July 21.
Tombi said the memorandum contains four demands--formation of a Government, return and rehabilitation of internally displaced persons to their original homes, free movement across the State and conduct of census and delimitation only after identification of illegal immigrants.
