18th Governor’s Taekwondo Cup UTA seal 6 medals in Sub-junior boys’ Kyorugi competition

IMPHAL, Jul 19 : UTA dominated the sub-junior boys’ Kyorugi competition in the  18th Governor’s Taekwondo Cup winning as many as 4 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze medals on the third day.
Moirangthem Chingsu of UTA defeated Chongtham Yaikhomba of TTA YPC in the junior boys’ U-16 kg title clash to win a gold medal as Lukram Thoihenba of PTA settled for the bronze medal.
Khongbantabam Nongdam of KTA sealed the U-18 kg category gold defeating Thounaojam  Mangal of PTA in the final bout as Nongthombam Darius of UST and Soubam Lamjingnganba of KTA shared the bronze medal podium.
Ch Ningthouba of ASTA was able to fetch the U-21 kg category title defeating Thoudam Lamnganba of TTS Nambol in the final as TTS’s Y Daniel and Irungbam Tornado of KANGLA settled for the bronze medals.
N Tarabin of UTA meanwhile dominated L Yaikhomba of IMRTA for the U-23 kg title as M Malemnganba of TTS and Sanasam Giftson of HA Academy ended up with the bronze medals.
Ningombam Korouhanba of BTA in the meantime picked the U-25 kg category gold medal beating Maibam Malemnganba of IMRTA in the final as Gaisinrei Pamei of KTA and Thoudam Luhenba of STTS bagged the bronze medals.
Nongthombam Samson further extended UTA’s gold medal haul by getting better of KTA’s M Carlos in the U-50 kg category final as Chingakham Leonardo of RTA and Ksh Tijendra of TFC grabbed bronze medals.
UTA’s Thounaojam Pamthoiba meanwhile claimed the +50 kg category title beating compatriot L Tomthinnganba in the final clash. B Warilemba of UTA and Moirangthem Arnold of TTA, Khangabok bagged bronze medals in this competition.
