Mongbung alleges harassment by NIA

JIRIBAM, Jul 19 : Womenfolk of Mongbung Meitei Khun in Jiribam have accused the National Investigation Agency (NIA) of harassment, alleging that they were pressured to testify in Court that Arambai Tenggol and G5 were involved in firing incidents.
Speaking to the media at Jiri Ema Keithel, Mongbung Meira Paibi secretary Sandharani stated that it is unacceptable for the NIA to pressure villagers and arrest people without knowing who actually the culprits are in the firing incidents at Mongbung village.
She questioned how the villagers of Mongbung Meitei Khun, which has been attacked multiple times, can testify to events they are unaware of.
Meanwhile, H Dhoni Meitei, advisor to Jiri Louri Khongthang Lup, stated that the NIA's request for the villagers to testify about Arambai Tenggol and G5's involve- ment in firing incidents is unfortunate.
Saying that Central and State forces are still deployed at Mongbung Meitei Khun, he appealed to the authorities to stop the NIA's alleged harassment.
He warned that if their demands aren't met, they will launch various forms of agitation.
