Dr PK Goel takes over as CS

IMPHAL, Jul 21: Senior IAS officer Dr Puneet Kumar Goel today took charge as the new Chief Secretary of Manipur.
Outgoing Chief Secretary Prashant Kumar Singh welcomed the new Chief Secretary to his office at the Old Secretariat and handed over his post.
Additional Chief Secretary (Finance) Vivek Kumar Dewangan, Principal Secretary Arunkumar Sinha (Forest, Environment & Climate Change), Principal Secretary RK Dinesh (MAHUD), Commissioner (Home) N Ashok Kumar and other senior officers were present at the hand over and take over ceremony.  
Notably, Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, Department of Personnel and Training issued an order on July 15, 2025 whereby Dr Puneet Kumar Goel was appointed as the Chief Secretary of Manipur for a term extending till August 31, 2026.
Another order issued by the Ministry on the same day re-posted Prashant Kumar Singh as the Secretary of National Commission for Scheduled Tribes.
Born at Delhi in 1966, Dr Puneet Kumar Goel cracked UPSC Exam at the age of 24. Before he was appointed as the Chief Secretary of Manipur, Puneet Kumar Goel served as the Chief Secretary of Goa.
Former Chief Secretary Prashant Kumar Singh will leave Imphal for Delhi on Tuesday.
