ED starts process of restituting properties in Lamjingba case

IMPHAL, Jul 21 : The Directorate of Enforcement (ED), Imphal Sub-Zonal Office, has initiated the process of restituting confiscated properties worth Rs 63.52 crore in the Lamjingba Finance case, following a Special Court (PMLA) order dated July 15, 2025.
According to a statement issued by the ED, claims from 5000 gullible investors have been recorded, and the properties will be auctioned to facilitate restitution.
The ED had previously attached movable and immovable properties worth Rs 1.87 crore and filed a supplementary Prosecution Complaint before the Special Court (PMLA) seeking their confiscation.
The investigation began based on seven FIRs registered by the Manipur police against Sanasam Jacky and other officials of the Lamjingba Group of Companies, which was found to be operating a fraudulent investment scheme promising unusually high returns to investors.
A Prosecution Complaint was filed on March 20, 2023 before the Special Court (PMLA) against Sanasam Jacky, M Robindro and Lamjingba Group of Companies, it said and added that the ED in the complaint also prayed for confiscation of properties to the tune of Rs 63.52 crore.
It also stated that charges were framed against the accused.
The ED stated that 60 investors had filed a petition before the Special Court (PMLA) in Imphal East, seeking restoration of the attached properties. Pursuant to this, the Court passed an order on March 21, 2025, directing the publication of a notice in two newspapers to invite claims from interested persons for restitution of the attached properties, which was duly published.
