Discipline stressed on Vyas Puja at DMU

IMPHAL, Jul 22 : Bharatiya Shikshan Mandal (BSM) Manipur Prant and DM University jointly celebrated Vyas Puja at the auditorium of DM College of Commerce today.
The event was attended by Professor W Chandbabu, Vice Chancellor, DM University as the chief guest; Professor Kh Rajen, Principal, DM College of Commerce as the functional president and Professor Th Naranbabu, Sanghchalak, RSS Manipur Prant as the guest of honour.
Delivering the keynote address, Professor Meinam Binota, president, BSM Manipur addressed the decline in discipline and good manners displayed by youths towards their teachers/gurus.
In order to bring a positive change in this regard, she called for revival of Manipuri culture and tradition.
Further, to bridge the gap between "gurus" and students, she urged teachers to be dedicated to teaching the youth sincerely.
During the event, Kh Samungou, former Head of DM College of Science; Kh Kunjo, former Professor, English Department, MU; Dr Makhonmani Mongsaba, former Assistant Professor, Manipuri Department, MUC and Soso Shaiza, former member, National Commission for Women India were presented with simple gifts and honoured.
As a part of the function, a one-day workshop on "Need for Reforming Pharmacology Education in India: A syllabus perspective as per NEP 2020" was also conducted.
Dr Ngangom Gunindro, Head, Pharmacology Department, RIMS and Dr Thangjam Dhabali, Chairman and MD of Babina Group of Companies graced the event as resource persons.
