IMPHAL, Jul 22 : The Manipuri Students' Federation (MSF)  has condoled the demise of its chief advisor and founder Laishram Lukhoi Singh and prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace. He was 65.
Lukhoi, popularly known as "Lukhoi Power" breathed his last at RIMS yesterday (July 21) at around 7.30 pm.
Born on February 1, 1960, at Singjamei Chirom Leikai, Lukhoi is the seventh son of L Mukta and L Achoubi, who have 11 children.
MSF, in a statement issued by its president, Hijam Roshan, remembered Lukhoi for his significant contribution to the students' movement in Manipur.
MSF observed a two-minute silence at its office today by drawing its flag to half-mast to honour the legacy of its founder.
The Federation noted that Lukhoi founded MSF on October 13, 1998, at GP Women's College, Imphal.
Stating that Lukhoi firmly believed in the ability of students to shape society, it added that the idea to observe Sanaroisingee Numit on February 25 every year was conceived by Lukhoi.
MSF shared the pain of the bereaved family and prayed  for the departed soul to rest in peace.
