2nd Premier League ASUFII FA crush SU 5-0 to take unassailable Group D lead

IMPHAL, Jul 23 : ASUFII FA, Mao rode on Salam Swamichandra’s quickfire brace to overwhelm Sagolband United 5-0 and finish the second round campaign (Group D) in the 2nd Premier League on top with an unassailable 12-point lead.
ASUFII FA have been on red hot form this season continued their fine form and led the first half 2-0 at Artificial Turf Ground, Lamlong Thongkhong this morning before pumping in three more goals including Swamichandra’s brace to devastate Sagolband United 5-0 for their fourth win in the second round.
ASUFII FA took 10 minutes to find the lead as P Sorormi Thingsang made a clinical finish before Md Nawaz Sharif made it 2-0 after 38 minutes.
After the restart, midfielder Suraibo Newmai who subbed in for Khumanthem Arun carried forward the scoring spree by adding the team’s third after 68 minutes as Sagolband United continued to struggle with their forms.
Swamichandra who also came off the bench after 68 minutes in place of P Sorormi Thingsang then took charge of the attack and netted two goals back to back in the 71st and the 79th minute to complete the 5-0 demolition of Sagolband United.
In a Group C match staged later in the afternoon, Athletic Brother’s Association (ABA), Kshetrigao and Angtha FC played out a goalless draw to share a point apiece.
