State Level Boxing Championships Thokchom Tompok ease into Elite Men’s 50 kg category final

IMPHAL, Jul 23 : Thokchom Tompok of Thoubal boxed his way into the Elite Men’s 50 kg category final in the ongoing State Level Boxing Championships at Khuman Lampak Boxing Arena.
Thokchom Tompok prevailed 5-0 via unanimous decision against Khumukcham Rajesh of Imphal East in a semi-final bout today to make it to the final.
Thongam Leninson of Imphal West and Okram Gung of Thoubal also made it to the Elite Men’s 65 kg category final with walkover wins.
U-19 Boys
The day also saw completion of the semi-final bouts of the U-19 Men’s 55 kg and 60 kg category competitions.
Thingom Rishi of Bishnupur overwhelmed Salam Chajers of Kakching 5-0 to seal his place in the 55 kg category final before Md Abdul Noor of Imphal East thumped Ningthoujam Paringanba of Thoubal 4-1 in the other semi-final bout.
Moirangthem Lanngamba of Imphal East in the meantime prevailed 5-0 over Thoubal opponent Pukhrambam Sailesh to set up 60 kg category final date with Chonreihor Y Shimray of Ukhrul who got a walkover win against H Dharmaraj of Bishnupur in another semi-final bout.
U-15 Girls : Choudhurimayum Debika in 40 kg category final
The day also saw Choudhurimayum Debika of ImphalEast cruise into the 40 kg category final for U-15 Girls as she pulled off an RSC win in second round against Laishram Jayaluxmi of Thoubal in a semi-final bout today.
In the 46 kg category semi-final bouts staged later, Nongmaithem Priyanka of Thoubal eased past Hawaibam Lingjen 5-0 via unanimous decision as Khumukcham Anamika of Imphal East edged out Huidrom Luxmi of Bishnupur 3-2 via split decision to complete the final line up.
In the 49 kg category semi-final bouts, Lanthing Rainam of Ukhrul notched up a 5-0 unanimous decision win against Thoubal’s Laishram Sara as Yumnam Lannganbi of Kakching sealed a 4-1 split decision win against Tamenglong’s Kapesa Bariamtak.
The final line up for the 52 kg category was also completed with Thingngam Malemnganbi of Kakching and Lairenjam Sujen of Imphal West recording identical 5-0 wins against Ingudam Naobicha of Bishnupur and Lairenlakpam Subhaluxmi of Imphal East respectively in the semi-final bouts.
U-17 Girls : L Taniya cruises 5-0 past Th Phabisana
The day also saw Laishram Taniya cruising 5-0 past Thongbam Phabisana to enter 46 kg category final as Lamameilu Gangmei of Imphal East beat Singsa W Shimray of Ukhrul and H Lanchenbi of Bishnupur beat Takhellambam Brainy Chanu of Thoubal in the 48 kg category semi-final bouts.
 Imphal West’s Riya  in the meantime reached the 50 kg category final with an RSC win in the second round against Heikham Lairenlakpam Anisha of Imphal East.
Maria Pame of Tamenglong meanwhile pulled off a dominant 5-0 win against Thoubal’s Sinam Ibesana to reach the 52 kg category final.
 Mangte Shumneijang Kom of Churachandpur sealed an RSC win in the second round against Chongtham Mandarani of Kakching to reach the 54 kg category final as Keisham Suchitra of Imphal East earned an RSC win in the first round against Haobijam Rina of Bishnupur to complete the final line up.
U-19 Women : Final line ups for 48 kg and 51 kg categories completed
The final line up for the U-19 Women’s 48 and 51 kg category competitions were also completed today.
In the 48 kg category semi-final bouts, Thangjam Sneha Chanu of Imphal East sealed an RSC win in second round against Thokchom Lucky of Bishnupur as Phuritshabam Renuka outlasted Ngalangam Pheirei of Ukhrul 4-1.
Soram Luwangleima of Imphal West in the meantime boxed her way into the 51 kg category final with a commanding 5-0 unanimous decision victory against Rinngam Vashi of Ukhrul in a semi-final bout before Loitongbam Bidya of Bishnupur edged out Gunshalu Khumba of Noney via 3-2 split decision to complete the final line up.
The championships being organised by the Manipur Amateur Boxing Association will run till July 27.
