Dead bodies vanish

IMPHAL, Jul 23 : Bodies of the five Chin-Kuki-Mizo Army (CKMA) who were shot dead by their own fellow cadres at around 2 am on July 22 in a remote jungle of Daveijang, Noney district about 50 Kms South of Nungba police station have vanished mysteriously.
A police team led by the OC of Nungba police station went for investigation to the site of the killing but they could not find the dead bodies. Daveijang village has just around eight households. Around 15 cadres of CKMA came to the village in the morning of June 21 and they asked the village chief to provide them a place of accommodation.
The village chief accommodated them in an unoccupied house near the village Church, sources said.
The villagers heard gunshots at around 2 am on July 22. Frightened by the gun shots, the villagers did not go to the house occupied by CKMA cadres immediately.
However, when the villagers led by the village chief went to the house after dawn, the dead bodies were not seen. But they saw a lot of blood inside the house.
When the police team led by the OC of Nungba police station reached the village, all the blood was also found washed out.
