CS reaches out to IDPs in Bpr

BISHNUPUR, Jul 23 : Chief Secretary Puneet Kumar Goel, IAS, interacted with IDPs at the relief camps in Chingoo Thangjing Guest House at Moirang and Bishnupur Old DC Complex today.
He made the trip to Bishnupur district after visiting a relief camp at Churachandpur.
He arrived at Chingoo Thangjing Guest House at 4 pm and assessed the condition of the relief camp.
A displaced woman from Churachandpur highlighted the grievances of the IDPs to the Chief Secretary, including the poor living conditions, lack of means of livelihood, children's education etc.
Saying that only those who live in relief camps can grasp the suffering of the IDPs, she urged the newly appointed Chief Secretary to work for their welfare and for the resolution of the prolonged conflict.
At Bishnupur Old DC Complex Relief Camp, a displaced woman raised a question regarding the likelihood of the IDPs being rehabilitated to their original homes by December as stated by the former Chief Secretary.
She urged Puneet Kumar Goel to recognize the hardships faced by the IDPs and make dedicated efforts to bring normalcy in Manipur.
Meanwhile, the Chief Secretary said that the Government is aware of the grievances highlighted by the women and takes them very seriously.
Saying that Manipur is a beautiful State with a lot of talented people, he assured to work towards bringing normalcy in Manipur. He invited the IDPs to visit his office to discuss all their problems. The Chief Secretary was accompanied by Secretary Home, SP Bishnupur, ADM Bishnupur and DLOs of the district. Sweets were also distributed to the displaced children at the relief camps during the visit.
