IMPHAL, Jul 24: As many as seven organisations viz; Core Committee on Relief and Rehabilitation, Manipur Naga Youth Organisation, Rongmei Naga Council Manipur, Zeme Naga Council manipur, Liangmai Naga Council, Eastern Zone, Inpui Naga Union and Nongmaijing Range, Manipur have endorsed the Foothill Naga Coordination Committee’s (FNCC) stance against the Kuki movement’s activities in Naga inhabited areas.
Together with FNCC, the seven organisations held a meeting at the office of the Core Committee on Relief and Rehabilitation, Dewlaland on July 22, 2025.
Endorsing the FNCC’s stance, the organisations said, “United, we reaffirm our commitment to safeguarding our ancestral lands, preserving our cultural heritage and upholding our inherent rights and dignity”, said a joint statement.
Recent developments including the proposed construction of German/Tiger Road without consul- tation, presence of Suspension of Operation (SoO) camps, demand for a Separate Administration for Kukis under Naga ancestral land and poppy plantations have precipitated grave concerns regarding the safety, security, and well-being of Naga people, it said.
Lauding the FNCC's efforts to address these issues through peaceful and democratic means, the seven organisations pledged support to their call for urgent action to immediately suspend all construction activities related to the German/Tiger Road, remove unauthorized SoO camps to ensure communities' safety and security, eradicate poppy plantations and prevent further cultivation and reject demands for a Separate Administration for Kukis under Naga ancestral land.
“We urge all stakeholders including the Government and relevant authorities, to take immediate and concrete actions to address these grievances and protect our rights and dignity”, it added.
