3.5 Kgs of heroin, Rs 99 lakh seized

IMPHAL, Jul 25: In yet another major drug seizure case, security forces seized 3.5 Kgs of heroin from four individuals including three women  on July 24, 2025.
The four individuals identified as Ms S Poubinah Teinamei (31) of T Khullen, Mrs PF Adaphro (34) of T Khullen, Mrs S Boibina (29) of T Khullen and Mr Lungdinibou Thiumai (52) of Khundong Khunkhaiba, Tamenglong district were arrested from T Khullen village, Kangpokpi district.
Altogether 273 soap cases containing 3.5 Kgs (approximately) of heroin were seized from their possession.
According to sources, the quantity of heroin seized from the four drug smugglers is worth around Rs 14 crore in the international market.
In addition, unaccounted cash amounting to Rs 99,09,850 was also recovered from their possession.    
Moreover, seven mobile phones and two four-wheelers (DI and Hyundai Creta) were also seized from their possession.
The four drug smugglers were later handed over to Kangpokpi police station along with the seized drugs and other items.
They were produced before the Duty Magistrate, Kangpokpi today and the Court remanded them to police custody till July 31, said sources.
