69th State Open Junior Badminton Championship I Martin vs H Malemnganba in U-19 Boys title clash; T Leonie face K Gunjan in U-19 Girls final

IMPHAL, Jul 25 : Ingudam Martin will play Hemam Malemnganba in an all-Bishnupur (BDBA) title clash for the U-19 boys singles title in the ongoing 69th State Open Junior Badminton Championship at MSBA Indoor Stadium, DM University campus.
Martin Ingudam overcame compatriot Rishav Ngangom 21-14 22-20 in the first semi-final match before Hemam Malemnganba Singh outlasted Senapati’s Kalo Truman 21-16 21-4 to complete the final line up.
Earlier in the quarterfinal matches, Martin Ingudam outlasted Senapati’s Kyoveio Vemai 14-21 21-15 21-16 and Hemam Malemnganba eased past Pfoki Liruna 21-12 21-3.
Tayenjam Leonie of Imphal West meanwhile will play Imphal East’s Konsam Gunjan in the U-19 Girls singles final.
Leonie made it to the final with a 21-10 14-21 21-9 win over Imphal East’s (IEDBA) Laishram Nandita Devi before Konsam Gunjan Devi defeated IWDBA’s Ashangbam Devika 18-21 21-12 21-8 in another semi-final match.
Earlier in the quarterfinals, Konsam Gunjan Devi defeated IWDBA’s Laishram Anjelia Devi 21-9 21-17 to enter the semis before Leonie Tayenjam cruised past Dolly Rajkumari 21-4 21-1 to book her semi-final ticket.
The final line up for the U-9 boys and girls and U-13 boys and girls singles competitions were also completed today.
Rashithoi Ningthoujam of Kakching (KDBA) sealed an easy 21-7 21-2 win over IWDBA’ Polem Tileinganbi in a semi-final match for the U-9 girls before IEDBA’s Chingkheinganbi Seram eased past IWDBA’s Keni Hanjabam 21-7 21-5 to complete the final line up.
Sarungbam Archana of IEDBA in the meantime outlasted BDBA’s Thingbaijam Bebina 21-15 21-13 to enter U-19 singles final before Jia Sanabam of IWDBA beat compatriot Moirangthem Jenelia 21-16 15-21 21-16 in the other semi-final match.
Kakching’s Delrique Pukhrambam meanwhile entered U-9 boys final beating IEDBA’s Luching Yambem 21-19 21-2 before Khundrakpam Narjit of BDBA set up the final date with a 21-14 22-20 win over IEDBA’ Paleppa Soubam.
Yangba Meitei Thokchom of IEDBA made it to the U-13 boys singles final with a 21-8 21-12 win over IWDBA’s Chirom Netcover before Shannon Loitongbam of IWDBA beat KDBA’s Kakchingtabam Khenchandra Sharma 21-10 21-16 to earn the other final ticket.
