IMPHAL, Jul 25 : The proscribed PREPAK (Pro) has condoled the demise of theatre icon Ratan Thiyam.
Ratan Thiyam, a rare gem of Kangleipak, was an internationally acclaimed theatre director, playwright and writer who successfully presented the rich tradition and culture of Manipur on global platforms, said the outfit.
For his immense contributions in the field of theatre and art, Ratan Thiyam was honoured with different international coveted titles and awards, said a press release issued by the outfit’s Assistant Publicity Secretary L Ningsingba.
Saying that the demise of Ratan Thiyam is an irreparable loss for Kangleipak, the outfit prayed that the departed soul may rest in peace in the heavenly abode.
The outfit also expressed solidarity with the bereaved family, friends and all the people of Kangleipak who are mourning the loss of the great son of the soil.
