IMPHAL, Jul 28: The JCRE Group, Imphal has signed a historic MoU with Tokyo's Mega Group to provide jobs to Manipur youths in hospitality, healthcare and Information Technology (IT) sectors in Japan.
The extendable memorandum of understanding for 3 years was signed between the two groups at Hotel Imphal today.
At the event at Hotel Imphal, JCRE Group CEO Lairenjam Niranjan said the unique and historic milestone of the JCRE Group and the Mega Group will benefit Manipur.
He said the JCRE Group was founded 12/13 years ago with the objective of addressing the problem of unemployment in Manipur.
JCRE has been working towards providing skill development training to youths to generate employment, he added.
Mega Mirai India Private Limited's Assistant Director, Kawai Haruka said the Mega Group deeply values the MoU with the JCRE Group.
The company provides services in construction, retail and human resource. It also works in other social sectors including elderly rehabilitation, she said.
JCRE Group General Manager, Adhikarimayum Sushanta Sharma said the group was in contact with the Mega Group since 2024 February to prepare ground for the MoU.
While the number of unemployed youth is high in Manipur, there is a decline in its working population. This MoU will help youths here get jobs in Japan, he said.
Youths who have skills in hospitality, healthcare and IT sectors will be given Level IV Japanese language training, and they must clear a language proficiency test to get jobs in Japan, Sushanta said.
Around 30 students of the JCRE are learning the Japanese language. They will complete the language training in December, he added.
Under the MoU, the Mega Group will cover fees for students' VISA, Imphal-Japan flight fare and their stay for a month in Japan, Sushanta said. Mega Group Director Shimizu Ran, Manager Chiba Hironomi and Mega Mirai India Private Limited Director Sanjay Gautam were present.
