Stage set for 72nd Senior Men’s State Kabaddi Championship semis

IMPHAL, Jul 28 : The semi-final line up for the 72nd Senior Men’s State Kabaddi Championship was completed today with VETO, Laphupat Tera; ALUC, Khurai Angom Leikai; AMDASCAM, Atoukhong and Ema Kalika, Wabagai securing top two places in Group A and Group B league round.
The 10-team league cum knock out championship is being hosted by Khonghampat Mayai Leikai Youth Pioneers Club (KYPC), Khonghampat under the aegis of the Manipur State Kabaddi Association.
VETO will play ALUC in the first semi-final match while AMDASCAM will face Ema Kalika in the second semi-final match.
The day saw,VETO who opened their winning account in the Group A league competition against KYPC yesterday, extend their winning streak by defeating SLYO, Tekcham 30-25 for the second win; MYC by 43-35 points for the third win and securing a 30-26 win against Ema Kalika to complete the league stage sweep.
In other Group A matches, Ema Kalika beat KYPC 24-20 and MYC, Heirok beat SLYO 30-28.
In the Group B matches, AMDASCAM defeated ALUC 34-25 and UPS, Kumbi 27-17 to finish Group winners as UPS beat NAYA, Nongmaikhong 36-22; and NAYA beat ICDF 17-15.
