12th IE District Shooting Competition Dhanaraj, Sweety top .177 Peep Sight Air Rifle championship

IMPHAL, Jul 28 : Thokchom Dhanaraj and Sweety Ningthemcha secured pole positions in the men and women’s 10 m .177 Peep Sight Air Rifle championship in the 12th Imphal East District Shooting Championship-2025 being underway at MRA Shooting Range, Taothong.
Thokchom Dhanaraj representing IEDRA shot 379 points to seal the top position as Nongmaithem Jubaraj secured 369 points to finish runner up.
Meanwhile in the women’s competition, Sweety of IEDRA amassed 379 points to finish on top as Lourembam Binarani  and Mareem Angel Chothe of JSR scored 254 and 217 points respectively to seal the second and third places.
10 m Pistol
IEDRA’s Amakcham Yohenba in the meantime sealed the men’s 10 m Pistol Championship by gathering 365 points as compatriot Pangambam Kunjabihari shot 361 points to secure the second place and Ashem Kennedy of JSR finished third on 341 points.
Nongmaithem Rojy of JSR on the other hand sealed the women’s 10 m Pistol Championship pole position by scoring 234 points while compatriots Thiyam Angel and Potsangbam Daina shot 180 and 139 points respectively to settle for the second and the third places.
License Gun .32 and above bore Pistol/ Revolver competition
Usham Tarunkumar of IEDRA was able to secure the first place in the License Gun .32 and above bore Pistol/ Revolver competition for men recording highest 30 points as compatriot Gurumayum Shyamkanhai shot 24 points to finish runner up.
JSR’s Ashem Kennedy and IEDRA’s Manoharmayum Barish Sharma meanwhile shared the third place podium by scoring identical 20 points each.
The championship that began on July 25 will culminate tomorrow.
