TRAU distributes new jerseys to Durand Cup team

IMPHAL, Jul 29 : Tiddim Road Athletic Union today distributed jerseys to its football team who will be participating in the 134th Durand Cup Manipur leg beginning tomorrow.
The distribution programme was held at the office of TRAU at Kwakeithel today in the presence of its functionaries including advisor Th Mangol, president Jogeshchandra Haobijam, vice presidents Somorjit Salam and T Phulen, secretary Kh Gopeshore, joint secretaries Kameshwor and K Bobin.
Team manager L Chetan, assistant team manager Ingudam Satish, GC Priyo, Media Officer Khaidem Bishwaraj, team official L Naoton, head coach Thangjam Saran Singh, assistant coach S Premjit and physiotherapist Chingkhei and players were also present at the occasion.
Besides handing out new jerseys to the team, Chital and Chingkhei were also named as the captain and vice captain of the team.
TRAU FC will face NEROCA FC in the Imphal derby as Manipur leg (Group F) kicks off tomorrow at 4 pm at Khuman Lampak Main Stadium.
Group F comprises Indian Navy and Real Kashmir FC apart from the two local footballing giants.
The tournament, oldest football in the continent, is organized by the Durand Football Tournament Society in collaboration with the All India Football Federation (AIFF) and the Eastern Command of the Indian Armed Forces.
Speaking at the occasion, TRAU secretary Kh Gopeshore said that the club is fielding an all Manipuri squad this time for the championship. Although all the players have been locally groomed, they have been motivated to produce their best in the tournament and surely will not disappoint the spectators and fans alike, he said.
