Advocate Commissioner directs

IMPHAL, Jul 29: In connection with an election petition filed with the High Court, the Advocate Commissioner has allowed time till August 8 to present defense witness, and directed MLA Th Shyamkumar to pay Rs 10,000 to petitioner, Lourembam Sanjoy.
The Advocate Commissioner issued the direction yesterday.
July 28 was fixed by the High Court for examination of a defense witness before the Advocate Commissioner. However, the witness didn't show up, and the respondent pleaded for more time to present the witness.
The Advocate Commissioner then allowed the prayer on the condition of payment of Rs 10000 to the election petitioner, and fixed August 5 for examination of the witness.
Notably, the election
petition was filed by Lourembam Sanjoy against Andro AC MLA Th Shyamkumar.
