PNTM urges Governor

Senapati, Jul 29: The Poumai Naga Tsiidoumai Me (PNTM), Lepaona, has called on the Manipur Governor to initiate an inquiry into the implementation of the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM), in the Senapati district, citing serious irregularities in the project's execution.
In a memorandum submitted to Manipur Governor on Tuesday, President of the PNTM, Lepaonah, L Pule Lovejoy drew the attention of the alarming discrepancies regarding the Jal Jeevan Mission's implementation in the region.
While the official website projects have shown more than 75% tap connections for the rural households under their jurisdiction, the reality is starkly different with zero connectivity, the memorandum mentioned.
Despite the mission's promise to provide 100% connectivity by 2024, the Poumai Naga community continues to suffer from acute water scarcity, it said.
