IMPHAL, Jul 31: The Joint CSOs, Moreh has categorically asserted that any initiative of the Government to resettle Meiteis at Moreh should be opposed tooth and nail.
The Joint CSOs recently issued a directive to all Kuki-Zo villages, village elders and leaders stating that a narrative war is going on at present even though exchange of firing has ceased.
It said that the war with Meiteis which erupted on May 3, 2023 is not over yet.
The Joint CSOs’ directive said that all Kuki-Zo people, young and old, men and women should fight collectively if security forces come to their villages/localities to arrest armed men and CSO leaders.
If any one is arrested in connection with drug cases, the decision adopted by village leaders and local women groups after studying the evidence should be accepted by one and all.
No one, in inebriated condition, should make dry or illogical arguments against decisions adopted by leaders.
Saying that men and women have different roles in the “Meitei war”, it called upon all the Kuki-Zo people to discharge their responsibilities depending on time and condition.
All Kuki-Zo people must comply with the command of unit commanders. If anyone refuses to report to the unit commander when summoned, they will be treated as anti-community (Kuki-Zo).
The directive further asked all Kuki-Zo people of Moreh to respond positively when their respective units seek financial support. If anyone leaves a village without informing leaders, an enquiry will be done against him/her at an appropriate time, it said.
“We have re-opened Moreh Hospital and the HTC has been looking after it. As such, no one should create any disturbance at the hospital”, it said.
The directive further asked all concerned not to move/drive around on the roads of Moreh late in the night.
