Cop suspended

IMPHAL, Aug 18: Police Constable Md Amumacha has been placed under suspension with immediate effect after he was arrested by police for involvement in extortion by using small arms from the public.
Superintendent of Police, Bishnupur Ksh Ravikumar Singh issued an order to this effect today.
Md Amumacha of District Police, Bishnupur presently attached to CID (SB), Imphal was arrested by the OC of Andro police station on August 16 in connection with an extortion case.
During the period of suspension, Md Amumacha’s headquarters shall be at the District Police Reserve Lines, Bishnupur and he shall not leave his headquarters without prior permission from the competent authority, said the order.
It also mentioned that a departmental enquiry is being contemplated against Md Amumacha.
