DC Chandel Trophy Super Division League Ziontlang SYC thrash Chumbang FC 5-2, emerge champions

IMPHAL, Sep 12 : Ziontlang SYC thrashed Chumbang FC 5-2 for the fourth win on trot after opening game 1-1 draw with to become the champions of the DC Chandel Trophy Super Division League organised by DSA Chandel.
Ziontlang SYC rode on MK Jeffrey’s double to seal the comfortable 5-2 win today after having edged past Chandel Khullen YC by 3-2 goals, beaten Lambung YCC 1-0 and trounced Lambung YCC 3-0 in the previous matches.
MK Jeffrey opened the scoring in the 10th minute but his compatriot Th Lovejoy conceded an own goal to close the gap in the 23rd minute.
Ziontlang SYC however retained the lead in the 24th minute thanks to PR Lungir before PR Jaishu made it 3-1 after 29 minutes.
The scoring spree continued as MK Jeffrey scored his second to make it 4-1 after 59 minutes.
Chumbang FC who were unable to keep up the pace pulled back a goal after 69th minute through Khiang Chothe before Franklin Lungthar rounded off the scoring for Ziontlang SYC in the 72nd minute.
Kapaam DC, with two wins and two draws, are second in the league table and will play Khongjon YC in their last match of the 6-team league tournament.
