Workshop begins

IMPHAL, Sep 22 : A ten-day workshop on “Finalization of Six translated texts in Manipuri” began today at the Department of Physics, Manipur University, Canchipur.
The workshop was organised by National Translation Mission (NTM), Central Institute of Indian Languages (CIIL), Mysuru, in collaboration with the Department of Physics, Manipur University, Canchipur.
The inaugural function was graced by dignitaries, including Prof A Dilip Singh, Head, Department of Physics, Manipur University; Prof P Nabachandra Singh, former Dean, School of Humanities, Manipur University; and Prof S Dorendrajit Singh, former Dean, School of Mathematical & Physical Sciences, Manipur University.
Dr Tariq Khan, Programme Coordinator, Officer In-charge, NTM and Academic Secretary, CIIL, Mysuru also attended the inaugural function in virtual mode.
22 experts including subject experts of Physics, Zoology, Education, Chemistry and Manipuri Language along with 2 resource persons from NTM also participated in the workshop.
Notably, the workshop was conducted under the aegis of the Department of Higher Education, Government of India with the aim to review and finalize six translated texts in Manipuri for Mechanical Engineering, Zoology, Education and popular Science books by CSIR-NISCPR.
