IMPHAL, Sep 22: Family members have claimed the mortal remains of Yambem Sanjoy, who died on September 20 due to alleged negligence of the RIMS doctors.
The body of the 50-year-old was claimed after postmortem at JNIMS Morgue this afternoon.
The postmortem was conducted at the JNIMS morgue in the presence of a Magistrate with full video coverage.
Yambem Sanjoy was the son of Late Y Kula of Bamon Kampu.
On September 20, Sanjoy was brought to RIMS hospital twice to treat pain on his left hand.
The first time Sanjoy was brought to RIMS, he was allegedly advised by the doctors to rest at home saying he had "nothing to worry about".
As his condition deteriorated, Sanjoy was brought to the RIMS Hospital again where he passed away after complaining of breathing difficulty.
