Issues call for a political solution : Joy

MOIRANG, Sep 25 : Veteran politician Okram Joy has asserted that the issues plaguing Manipur are deeply rooted in politics, and therefore the need is political solutions.
He made these remarks during a one-day political awareness programme organized by Voice of Kumbi under the theme "Our Vote, Our Future" at Kumbi Terakha Sanakhongnang-khong Mandop, today.
Addressing the gathering, Joy highlighted that Manipur is at a critical juncture, with the State's future hanging in uncertainty.
 Joy urged the people to give their mandate to leaders who can restore normalcy in Manipur, preserve the State's unity and integrity, and foster harmonious relations among its long-time residents in the coming Assembly elections.
Manipur will surely return to normalcy if people elect leaders who prioritize the wellbeing of the State and her people rather than voting for personal gain, he said and urged for active political engagement to address the pressing challenges facing the State.
Joy further noted that the outcome of the 13th Assembly elections due in 2027, will play a pivotal role in shaping Manipur's future.
Several other Congress leaders also attended the programme organised under the aegis of social activist M Meghachandra.
