1st Thoubal District Olympic Games HKKSA vs CYSA in men’s football final, IMAK emerge Jeet Kune Do champs

IMPHAL, Sep 26 : HKKSA, Haokha Kiyam will square off against CYSA, Khangabok in the title clash of the 1st Thoubal District Olympic Games football being underway at Kodompokpi Sports Complex.
The third day of the competition saw HKKSA beat Fine Society, Heirok by 3-1 on penalties after a 2-2 regulation time draw and CYSA beat SDAU, Tekcham 1-0 in the last-four round matches to book their final tickets.
Fine Society, who got a first round bye, enjoyed an early lead courtesy of Biju after 10 minutes but HKKSA, who defeated Pathap FC, Lilong in the quarterfinals, rode on a brace from M Deril (26’, 28’) to overturn the lead.
Fine Society however made their way back into the game with Sanathoi scoring the equaliser in the 57th minute and forced the game to be decided via penalty shoot-out.
To their disappointment, Sanathoi emerged the only player to find the target in the shoot-out for Fine Society while Mahesh, Rahul and Premkumar made the most of their chances to seal the victory for the Haokha Kiyam team.
In the second semi-final match, Y Gopi scored in the 37th minute to earn CYSA the 1-0 slender win against SDAU, Tekcham who got a first round bye.
Both sides were reduced to 10-man with referees showing direct red cards to Thoithoi of CYSA and Oken of SDAU in the 64th minute.
The final match is slated for tomorrow afternoon (2.30 pm).
Volleyball : KSA-Lamding vs LEWA-Lamding in final
KSA-Lamding will play LEWA, Lamding in the title clash of the volleyball competition of the ongoing games at Kairembikhok Community Hall. KSA-Lamding outlasted YDC-Khoirom in straight sets as LEWA outlasted SLGC-Yairipok in the similar fashion to complete the final line up.
Kho-Kho : Heirok Higher Secondary School vs SCEASDO in men’s final
CHMYDA, Sangaiyum-pham defeated SYA, Salungpham 54-38 and BASU, Khangabok defeated SENDYC, Salungpham 26-22 in the last two league matches to make their way to the men’s Kho-Kho competition semis today at SENDYC playground.
Later in the first semi-final match, Heirok Higher Secondary School beat CHMYDA 30-26 to book their place in the final. They will play SCEASDO, who defeated BASU 42-22 in another semi-final match, in the final.
The day also saw SCEO, Khangabok beat  PYDC, Khangabok 18-12 and SENDYC beat SYA 14-12 to enter the women's competition semis. In the women’s semi-final matches, BASU defeated SENDYC 20-18 before SCEO, Khangabok beat SCEASDO 30-10.
Jeet Kune Do : Institute of Martial Arts Kangleipak-Yairipok (IMAK) emerge overall champions
The third day of the games also saw Institute of Martial Arts Kangleipak-Yairipok secured overall champions title by amassing 6 gold, 7 silver and 5 bronze medals at Yairipok Bishnunaha Indoor Stadium.
MATC, Thoubal in the meantime finished runners up with 1 gold and 3 bronze medals.
Sepaktakraw : Stage set for men and women’s final
The final line up of both the men and women’s Sepaktakraw  competitions were also completed today with YASTA and PYDA securing semi-final victories in the men’s competition and YASTA and PYDA registering wins in women’s semi-final matches.
Table Tennis : Eagle Eye TT Club win women’s team gold
Eagle Eye TT Club women’s team comprising Ningombam Anna Devi, Ningombam Riya, Chanambam Alia and Thokchom Linthoi Devi emerged the TT champions of the games.
They defeated Fancier Hr Secondary School by 3-2 margins to seal the top honours.
