Echoes of a Shrinking World
Dr Ranbir Laishram
Once it came rarely—
a shadow of worry,
a ripple of chaos,
once a month,
perhaps once in a year.
Now it always comes—
every day,
every hour,
every minute pressing heavy
upon the heart.
Confusion everywhere,
disorder everywhere—
in nations and states,
in cities and villages,
in homes and families.
Belief against belief,
identity against identity,
gender against gender,
neighbor against neighbor—
peace is broken,
harmony torn.
Has the world grown too small?
Tied too tightly?
Screens glowing,
voices shouting,
nothing hidden,
everything colliding.
Are we walking to the end?
Not by nature’s hand,
but by our own hands—
slowly, blindly,
walking, breaking,
destroying ourselves.
