SOYO, BMSC win as IW 1st Divn Football League begins

IMPHAL, Sep 29 : BMSC, Taobungkok beat YAC, Yaiskul 1-0 as SOYO, Uripok Kangchup Road thrashed  KAN, Uripok Kangchup Road 5-2 in the opening day of the 30th L Sangita Devi Memorial 1st Division Football League, 2025-26 at PAMYAL ground, Patsoi.
L Naocha scored in the 10th minute to seal the victory of BMSC against YAC in the opening match of the 7-team tournament which was formally opened in the presence of W Hemanta, president PAMYAL; H Meghachandra, vice president Imphal West District Football Association (IWDFA); P Surchand, vice president IWDFA and L Manihar donor, as presidium members.
Later in the second match, W Dishan and M Bhumeshwor scored twice to set up the 5-2 win for SOYO against 10-men KAN.
W Dishan opened the scoring for SOYO early in the 2nd minute but KAN rallied to draw level through Jeny in the 15th minute. M Bhumeshwor retained the lead for SOYO in the 33rd minute to make it 2-1 at half time. At the restart of the game, KAN were reduced to 10-men with Jemes picking up a straight red and Bhumeshwor was at the target again to complete his brace in the 51st minute and further extend the lead to 3-1 for SOYO. The scoring spree for SOYO continued with M Wanglen scoring in the 57th minute. KAN’s H Amarjit pulled one more goal back in the 63rd minute but W Dishan rose yet again to score the decisive goal for SOYO in the 69th minute.
