Police recover arms, ammo

IMPHAL, Sep 4: State police recovered a huge quantity of arms and ammunition from Heingang Ching, Phougakchao Ikhai Mamang Leikai and Kolbung village areas in separate operations today.
From Heingang Ching and its surrounding area, police recovered three No 36 hand grenades, five tube launchers, one AK 56 Rifle with magazine, one M16 Rifle with magazine, one BP jacket with two BP plates, one RPG shell, ten 7.62mm ammunition and ten 5.56mm ammunition, said Manipur Police Control Room in a bulletin issued today.
From Phougakchao Ikhai Mamang Leikai and Kolbung village areas under Bishnupur district, police recovered one INSAS Rifle along with one magazine, one 12 Bore DBBL, two 12 Bore SBBLS, one country-made 9mm Pistol along with one empty magazine, five 7.62mm AK 47 Rifle live rounds, four 7.62mm SLR Rifle live rounds, five .303mm live rounds, two 9mm live rounds, four gelatin sticks, two live detonators and one cordex explosive wire measuring 1 metre.
