Chingkheihunba PC, Arvind PC-B advance to pre-quarterfinals in 39th Men’s State Polo Tourney

IMPHAL, Jan 10 : Chingkheihunba PC and Arvind PC-B made their way to the pre-quarterfinals in 39th Men’s State Polo Tournament today with first round victories at Mapal Kangjeibung.
In the first match of the day, Chingkheihunba PC outlasted Lainingthou Khori Phaba PC by 13-3 to set up a pre-quarterfinal date with ESC-A.
Takhellambam Leishemba scored 6 goals alone in this one sided encounter as Th Manisana scored thrice and M Bhupendrajit added two. Th Kaoba and O Rozer also chipped in one goal apiece for Chingkheihunba PC as they led a 9-0 till the halfway mark.
On the other hand T Anil scored twice and S Ronex added one for Lainingthou Khori Phaba PC.
Later in the second match, Arvind PC-B overcame a late surge from Nongpok Apunba Kangjei Lup to seal a 6-5 win and set up a pre-quarterfinal date with Tentha PC.
A Kishan and S Ranjan scored three goals each to set up the victory for Arvind PC as P Premjit and B Shantikumar scored two goals apiece for Nongpok Apunba Kangjei Lup and N Premkumar added one.
