IMPHAL, Jan 9 : REYS, Nagamapal defeated SNC, Sangaiprou by 12 runs for the fourth straight win after opening game loss to temporarily go atop Group C in the 22nd Manipur Veteran Cricket Tournament.
REYS raised a respectable total of 196 runs for 8 wickets after winning the toss and electing to bat first before restricting SNC to 184/8 in response to seal their fourth win and inch closer to quarterfinals.
Bonny 42 off 36, Kenny 31 off 35, and Dhawan 27 off 17 led the scoring for REYS today before Maikel remained unbeaten on 28 off 26 balls to take REYS to 196.
SNC’s Ranendrajit (3/20) and Rameshchandra (2/32) shared five wickets in the first innings as Pradeep, Ronelkumar, and Rajen picked a wicket apiece.
In reply, Rajen scored a 76-ball 87 but his effort went in vain as they ended up collecting 184 runs.
Superjit was the pick of the REYS bowlers as he claimed three wickets (3/30) in his spell of 6 overs as Momo, Iboyaima, and Nongdren picked a wicket apiece.
Superjit of REYS who picked 3 wickets and applied pressure on SNC was adjudged man of the match.
YWC, Langthabal will play KSDO, Kyamgei in the next match tomorrow.
