RULE, Al-Ameen victorious in 5th MNCA Superplate Trophy

IMPHAL, Jan 9 : RULE, Meitram and Al-Ameen, Lilong emerged victorious in today’s matches of the ongoing 5th MNCA Superplate Trophy 2025-26.
At Khangabok Cherapur Public Ground, RULE extended their winning run to 3 games and unbeaten run to four games in the Group A league competition by securing a 7-wicket win over KSDO, Kyamgei.
RULE dismissed KSDO, who chose to bat first, for 121 runs in 30.2 overs courtesy of concerted bowling efforts and cruised to the winning 123 for three wickets in 25.4 overs riding on an unbeaten 27-run fourth wicket stand between Naoshekpam Manglemba 30 off 48 and Sanjenbam Ananda 13 off 15 after Sanjenbam Suresh struck a sensible 50 off 64 balls that included 4 fours and 1 six.
Kh Firdos 42 off 76 balls, Md Akhtar Rahman 28 off 13 balls, and Elviz 27 off 39 balls were the only double digit run getters for KSDO in the first innings that saw Sanjenbam Ananda (2/36), Nepram Richer (2/20), and Jay Singh (2/15) sharing 6 wickets for RULE while S Indrakumar (1/30) and Th Kishan (1/1 in 1 over) chipped in with a wicket apiece. For KSDO, Lakimbur (3/25) picked all three wickets in a lost cause.
S Ananda who picked 2 wickets and added unbeaten 13 in the chase, was adjudged player of the match.
Elsewhere at Model Hr Sec and Oriental College ground, Al-Ameen beat UCC, Kangchup Road by 6 wickets for their second win in 5 Group B matches.
UCC, who won chose to bat, were restricted to 135/9 in the allotted 35 overs despite L Bipinkumar’s leading 42 off 61 as Yumnam Rohit (3/14), Zaheer Khan (2/29), and Shohel (2/36) impressed with the ball for Al-Ameen.
In reply, Thokchom Boboicha 59 not out off 79 balls (7 fours and 1 six) and Shohel Akter 31 not out off 66 balls produced an unbeaten 5th wicket partnership of 89 runs to guide Al-Ameen to the target after they slumped to 47/4 in 8 overs.
Laishram Bhuson picked four wickets (4/18) for UCC in this innings.
Boboicha who led the Al-Ameen chase was adjudged player of the match.
