Two arrested

IMPHAL, Jan 10: Following the triple firing incident at multiple locations within Imphal West district at Langjing Achouba, Ghari and Sangaiprou yesterday, police have arrested two persons.
The two arrested have been identified as Khaidem Ranjit (65) of Sagolband Moirang Hanuba, and Sanasam Birmangol (63) of Phumlou, who was residing at Tera Loukrakpam, Imphal West.
The two are allegedly members of proscribed group KCP. An M-20 Pistol, containing a live round, used in the firing incidents has been recovered and seized, said the police.
The two were identified as suspects after analysing CCTV footage, added the police.
The two persons are involved in no less than eight firing incidents, including the firing at the residence of one Dr Loken at Uripok, Imphal earlier, said the police.
The police also recovered three 2-wheelers and a mobile phone.
