Arms. ammo seized

IMPHAL, Jan 10 : Security forces seized a large cache of arms, ammunition, and explosives from Chura-chandpur, Imphal East, and Thoubal districts.
A bulletin issued by police late last night said that one local made rocket filled with explosives, five IEDs weighing approximately 4 Kg, three pompi shells each weighing 3 Kg, twenty single barrel rounds and two empty cases of  different arms were seized from Thangjing foothills under Churachandpur police station yesterday.
The police further stated that one single barrel rifle, one  country made AK rifle without magazine, one bolt action rifle, one hand grenade (no 36),  one 81mm ILLG (para bomb), one 51mm ILLG (para bomb), two tube launchers, 20 live ammunition of different arms and some protective gears were also seized from Natum Ching, Sanasabi under Yaingangpokpi police station in Imphal East on the same day.
From Ikop Pat area in Thoubal,  two CMGs, one improvised .303 rifle, two improvised single bolt action rifles, one  hand grenade (36 HE), one detonator, one smoke grenade, 14 rounds of different calibres and four magazines  seized. Two residents of Luwangsangbam Makha Leikai were arrested at Sora Chingwangba on Jan 9 with 1,008 beer cans, added the police.
