KCDO emerge champions of 10th MNCA Plate Trophy 2025-26

IMPHAL, Jan 10 : KCDO, Kongpal were crowned the champions of the 10th MNCA Plate Trophy 2025-26 organised by the Manipur Cricket Association with an 18-run victory over IBSA, Yumnam Leikai in the title clash staged today at Moijing Public Ground, Thoubal Moijing.
Asked to bat first, KCDO raised a respectable total of 200 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 35 overs and restricted toss winners IBSA to 182/7 in reply to lift the title trophy.
KCDO did not have the best of the start today and slumped to  35/3 but Ksh Devendro revived the innings by adding 79 runs off 86 balls including 9 fours before he departed for the 7th wicket as the scoreboard read 151 in the third delivery of the 31st over after forging a key 54-run partnership with Konsam Netajit (17) for the fourth wicket.
Later on, Moirangthem Geetchandra 43 not out off 25 and Moirangthem Mani 5 not out off 6 produced an unbeaten stand of 49 runs for the 8th wicket to take the tally to 200.
The innings saw Azmad Kh return with the best bowling figures of 3/21 in 7 overs for IBSA as Pravesh (2/27) and Md Shah Jahan (2/34) shared four other wickets.
Chasing 201 run for the victory, IBSA started wobbly and slumped to 96/6 despite Nandakumar’s 58-ball 50 before Wm Rajak 54 off 50 (6 fours and 1 six) and Yengkhom Bhomendro 34 off 24 (1 four and 2 sixes) forged 82-runs for the 7th wicket to put up a late fightback. They however ended up scoring 182/7 in the allotted 35 overs to suffer the 18-run loss.
Mandingbam Surjit was the pick of the KCDO bowlers collecting 3 wickets for 32 runs in 7 overs while Devendro picked two (2/30) and the pair of Mutum Jodiba and Surjit claimed a wicket apiece.
Devendro of KCDO who produced an all round show was adjudged player of the match and feted with a cash prize of Rs 2,500 along with a trophy and a certificate.
Winners KCDO walked away Rs 1,20,000 richer and the title trophy while IBSA contented with Rs 80,000 cash prize along with certificates and trophy.
YAC’s Wayenbam Indrakumar meanwhile swept the man of the series and highest run scorer awards carrying Rs 8,000 and Rs 4,000 respectively. He also received trophies and certificates for his feats.
Indrakumar was also joint highest wicket taker award recipient alongside S Santosh of YUCC and L Martin of PSC as they shared the same 19 wickets to their names.
