IMPHAL, Jan 13 : CDCC, Sagolband Salam Leikai ended their 4-game Group A league round losing run in the 5th MNCA Superplate Trophy 2025-26 by defeating KSDO, Kyamgei by 28 runs as Al-Ameen, Lilong cap their Group B campaign by beating NCA, Ningthoukhong by 6 wickets for the third win in 6 matches.
In the Group A match staged at Model Hr Sec and Oriental College ground, CDCC raised 170/10 in 34.2 overs and bundled out toss winners KSDO for 142 runs in 31.5 overs to earn their first win in five matches.
Asked to bat first, CDCC had a dismal start and slumped to 16/3 in 4.4 overs before Narengbam Priyojit (21 off 36) and Md Ataur Rahaman (36 off 48) put on 58 runs for the third wicket to ease some pressure.
Things did not improve despite efforts from Sagatpam Lanchenba 35 off 53 and Khurshid Alam 30 not out off 16 and eventually slumped to 170 as Lakimbur (5/30 in 6.2 overs) and Maibam Wakil (3/21 in 4 overs) shared a bulk of 8 wickets for KSDO.
In reply, Md Raish toiled hard to keep the chase alive for a while adding 42 off 51 until his departure at 88 for the fifth wicket, but CDCC bowlers overhauled their performance to cut short their innings at 142.
Khurshid Alam (3/33 in 7 overs) and Mairembam Lucky (3/33 in 7 overs) shared 6 wickets for CDCC in the innings as Kshetrimayum Robert (2/22) and Fm Sharif (2/29) shared the other four wickets.
Khurshid Alam was adjudged player of the match.
Elsewhere at Khangabok Cherapur Public Ground, Al Ameen rode on Naeem Ahamad’s unbeaten 95 off 81 balls to chase down a target of 229 runs set up NCA with 6 wickets and 10 balls left to spare.
NCA opted to bat first and gathered 228 runs for 9 wickets in the allotted 35 overs on the back of RK Amarjeet’s 58-ball 62 (4 fours and 3 sixes) and contributions from Yumnam Bobby (27 off 42), Angom Robinhodd 19 off 22, RK Robertson (19 off 15), and L Sadananda (18 off 12),
6 bowlers of Al-Ameen including Md Najir Ahamed (2/46) found their names in the list of wicket takers in the innings before Naeem Ahamed smacked 9 fours and 4 sixes to post an unbeaten 95 off 81 balls and take Al-Ameen to the target with Md Ziour Rahman 22 not out off 20.
RK Amarjeet picked three wickets (3/41) in this innings that saw Thokchom Boboicha 46 off 54 and Naeem Ahamed set the tone of a successful chase after the team slumped to 31/2 in 5.5 overs.
Anish Khan also added 32 off 23 balls to forge 66-runs with Naeem en route of Al-Ameen’s win.
Naeem Ahamad was eventually adjudged player of the match.
