MU Inter College Chess KP College, TS Paul MWC crowned men and women’s team champions

IMPHAL, Jan 13 : Kamakhya Pemton College and TS Paul Manipur Women’s College (TS Paul MWC) were crowned men and women’s team champions at the Khuraijam Ramnarayan Shastri Memorial Manipur University Inter College Chess Tournament for Men and Women.
The tournament was hosted by TS Paul Manipur Women’s College at the conference hall of the college under the aegis of the Manipur University Sports Committee.
KP College’s N Yoihenba and G Arosemit made 1-2 podium finishes in the men’s competition securing identical 3 points apiece after 4 rounds to earn the team title as Manipur University and Manipur College finished first runners up and second runners up.
As many as 7 players from 5 colleges participated in the men’s tournament organised in the 4-round Swiss System format.
Meanwhile in the women’s tournament, hosts TS Paul Manipur Women’s College secured pole position as Manipur University and Waikhom Mani Girls’ College secured first runners up and second runners up titles.
11 players from 5 colleges/ institutes participated in the competition.
