10th ISKF All India Karate Do Championship Manipur win 70 medals, lift overall team champions title

IMPHAL, Jan 13 : Manipur Karate team shone yet again at the 10th ISKF All India Karate Do Championship 2025-26 that was held from January 9 to 11 at Kurseong, Darjeeling, West Bengal, as they won 46 gold, 14 silver and 10 bronze medals to deservingly lift the overall team champions title.
The championship approved by the Karate India Organisation was organised by the International Shito Ryu Karate Federation, India and hosted by the ISKF-India, West Bengal State.
Hosts West Bengal finished third in the championship that saw athletes in the Sub-Junior, Colour Belt Open, Masters, Cadet, U21 and Senior categories as Assam finished third.
Nandeibam Loyanganbi Chanu (Below 7 Yrs; - 25 Kgs), Raghunat Oinam (9 Yrs; -47 Kgs), Lannganbi Soram (10 Yrs; +40 Kgs), Nandeibam Mangaleibi Chanu (11 Yrs; -45 Kgs), Leishemba Leishangthem (11 Yrs; -30 Kgs), Nirvan Kakchingtabam (11 Yrs; -40 Kgs), Sinthoiba Thiyam (11 Yrs ; -45 Kgs), Rajkumari Ashakiran Devi (12 Yrs; -45 kgs), Nandeibam Joshi Chanu (12 Yrs; -50 Kgs), Lakshita Kakchingtabam (12 Yrs; +50 Kgs), Pratik Dahal (12 Yrs; -50 Kgs), Thiyam Jeninson (12 Yrs; -55 Kgs), and Khumukcham Daina Devi (Senior; +68 Kgs) shone with double gold in the championship producing second to none performances in both the Kata and Kumite events.
Meanwhile,  Thongam Alfred Singh (8 Yrs; -30 Kgs), Luwangnganba Hijam (8 Yrs; -37 Kgs), Arish Thongam (8 Yrs; +37 Kgs), Pebam Athoiba Meitei (9 Yrs; -42 Kgs), Chandan Nepram (10 Yrs; -35 Kgs), Sapam Starter Singh (10 Yrs; -25 Kgs), Pebam Ronalt Singh (10 Yrs; -35 Kgs), Thongam Malemnganba (11 Yrs; +45 Kgs), Anjila (12 Yrs; -35 Kgs), Fajul Haque (12 Yrs; -35 Kgs); Alex Thoudam (12 Yrs; -50 Kgs), Khaidem Ghanashyam Singh (13 Yrs; -45 Kgs), Wahengbam Twinkle Devi (Cadet ; -42 Kgs), Md Ziaul Haque (Junior ; -55 Kgs), Takhellambam Pradip (Under 21 ;-75 Kgs), Ningombam Lily Chanu (Senior -45 kgs), Athokpam Bikash (Senior ; -55 Kgs), Bloodlee Leimajam (Senior ; -60 Kgs), and Md Kudus Ali Syed (Senior ; -75 Kgs) bagged gold medals in the Kumite event only.
Mutum Hikhomba Singh (11 Yrs; -35 Kgs) and Khrish Akoijam (13 Yrs; -55 Kgs) also won gold medals for Manipur at the championship in Kata event only.
Kata silver medallist meanwhile include Pebam Ronalt, Thongam Malemnganba, Wahengbam Twinkle, Konthoujam Sanamacha (Cadet -48 kg), Thingbaijam Lenin (Cadet; -57 kg) as RK Bhagyraj (9 Yrs; -37 kg), Kripson Huidrom (9 Yrs; +47 kg), Khrish Akoijam, Mutabir Chesam (U21; -60 kg), Akram Seikh (U21; -67 kg), Phundreimayum Awes Allam (Senior; -84 kg), and Md Talibur (Masters; -55 kg) bagged Kumite silver medals.
The athletes who settled for bronze medal in the Kata event at the championship include Luwangnganba Hijam, Kripson Huidrom, Chandan Nepram while Mutum Hikhomba, Konthoujam Sanamacha, Md Manoj Khan (Junior ; -50 Kgs), Mohammad Adan Saff (Junior ; -61 Kgs), and Diyana Khoisnam (Senior ; -55 Kgs) bagged bronze medals in Kumite event at the championship.
As many as 46 athletes participated in the championship and returned with at least a medal.
The team were led by Th Nishikanta as coach with three managers- Th Somorendro, Nandeibam Joykumar and Syed Siraj Ahamed.
AMGSU congratulates Pratik Dahal
The All Manipur Gorkha Students’ Union (AMGSU) has extended its heartiest congratulations to Pratik Dahal for his outstanding achievement of winning two gold medals at the 10th ISKF All India Karate Championship 2025–26.
The remarkable accomplishment reflects his dedication, discipline, and relentless hard work, bringing immense pride to the Manipur Gorkha community and Manipur as a whole, said AMGSU in a press release.
