NSG Cycling : Manipur fastest in U-17 boys’ team sprint

IMPHAL, Jan 17 : Manipur U-17 boys’ team were the fastest in the sprint competition at the 69th National School Games that concluded today in Ranchi.
The State team comprising Yumnam Sushil, Chungkham Hemba, Chungkham Mangalmission, and Longjam Aditya posted 1:09.192 (1 minute and 9.192 seconds) to seal the gold medal yesterday as Andaman and Nicobar team comprising Kingdom Bright, Saw Zecheriah, Messi Kartson, and Lionald Backer settled for the silver medal with a time of 1:10.309.
Maharashtra team were third in 1:10.872.
It was third gold medal for Manipur after Poireinganba Chanambam and Thangjam Lamnganba bagged a gold medal apiece respectively in the U-14 boys’ 14 km mass start event and U-14 boys’ 500 m individual time trial event.
 Yumnam Sushil and Mayengbam Henthoi Singh had also won a silver medal apiece in the 500m individual time trial event for U-17 boys and U-14 boys respectively as Ngangbam Nungshithoi settled for a bronze medal in the individual pursuit event.
Manipur eventually finished the Ranchi event with 3 gold, 2 silver and 1 bronze medals.
